Alexandria Museum of Art

Small town, big creativity: the Alexandria Museum of Art brings a splash of culture, creativity, and fun to downtown Alexandria, Louisiana and their team wanted their quarterly magazine to feel anything but boring. Each issue highlights past events, exhibitions, shows, and all the creative goodness happening at the museum. The design needed to keep up by feeling just as creative and visually engaging.

Here’s few spreads from the Winter 2020 issue, where I got to run wild and have complete creative freedom with the design.

Inspired by Swiss design, I had fun mixing geometric shapes with bold typography and a few wavy lines to give the layouts a modern, energetic vibe. Working with the museum’s signature red and black color palette, I created designs that feel lively and eye-catching, while still letting the photos, text, and info shine. This issue was a great excuse to experiment, play around, and inject a little extra personality into the magazine’s style.
