Kim Dukes, DDS
A brand identity for an offline practice that doesn’t rely on digital to function.
Overview
As a dentist, Dr. Kim Dukes definitely knows a thing or two about creating healthy, confident smiles. With that in mind, she wanted a visual identity that feels fresh, friendly, and modern without blending into the sea of overly clinical, lookalike dental brands. As an offline practice, the brand needed to build trust and recognition through in-person experiences rather than relying on a digital presence.

Strategic Design Decisions
The identity takes a more playful, unexpected approach by moving away from typical dental tropes, skipping the usual tooth icon and predictable color palettes in favor of something that doesn’t look like every other dental brand. The goal is to create something distinctive and memorable while still maintaining a sense of professionalism and trust.
The color palette puts a fresh spin on traditional dental colors, keeping a clean, healthy feel while introducing warmth to soften the clinical edge. To build consistency across the identity, simple geometric shapes form “DDS,” a subtle nod to Doctor of Dental Surgery. This adds personality while still feeling modern and professional. The system is designed to work seamlessly across physical materials, with enough flexibility to extend into simple digital use if needed.
System Thinking
The identity is designed to live primarily across physical touchpoints, including signage, printed materials, and patient interactions, where consistency and recognition are built over time. Each element works together to reinforce a sense of familiarity and trust in a real-world setting.
Digital Consideration
While the practice does not rely on a digital presence, the identity was designed to stay flexible if anything simple is ever needed. This could be a basic informational site or appointment access, where the same sense of clarity, warmth, and approachability carries through without turning it into something it doesn’t need to be.
